Desert control refers to the use of water and sand control techniques to control the spread of deserts. The main reasons for the expansion of desertification are unreasonable human activities, drought and water scarcity, sparse vegetation, and windward effects. Therefore, if we can find breakthroughs in alleviating water scarcity, increasing surface vegetation in desert areas, and reducing the effect of increased wind power, it will be easy to solve desert governance.

Current issues in desert governance
After long-term desertification control, we have mastered certain desert control technologies, formed effective management systems, teaching and research systems, and formulated a series of policies and regulations. It is worth considering that although more and more funds are invested and efforts are made every year, the expansion speed of desertification is getting faster and there is a trend of further deterioration. This indicates that there are some problems in current desert governance, mainly manifested in the following three aspects.
Desert control emphasizes "prevention" and leans towards "governance"
The current land desertification control follows the traditional concept of "prevention as the main focus, governance as a supplement". In practice, due to inadequate supporting policies and measures, as well as the failure to implement the term goal management responsibility system for preventing and controlling desertification, it is difficult for desertification prevention methods to achieve their expected teaching goals. However, due to the continuous expansion of surface damage, society has created a passive situation where "governance capacity cannot keep up with destruction" and "greening cannot keep up with desertification", desertification partially reverses, and overall quality deteriorates. Therefore, it is not advisable to prioritize "prevention" over "governance", and it is necessary to increase the emphasis and education on desert governance, transforming passive prevention into active participation in governance.
Small scale, slow speed, and uneven development level of desert management enterprises
At present, desert control is mainly limited to areas with good basic conditions and fast effects, but it is rarely implemented in many areas where desertification is rapidly expanding, causing serious harm, with harsh natural conditions and difficult control. Therefore, the essence of continuously expanding desertification has not fundamentally changed.
Insufficient investment in desert control
For a long time, due to the gap between government investment and actual needs, the investment is even insufficient to dig holes, seriously affecting the enthusiasm of the public for afforestation. Even in areas that have just completed the early stages of desert management, the results of the early stages cannot be sustained due to a lack of funding in the later stages.
In short, although great achievements have been made in the prevention and control of desertification, the area of desert governance is not large, and the progress of desertification control cannot keep up. Therefore, traditional desert management methods can no longer meet the requirements of today's desert management,
